# Connections

> [!TIP]
>
> **Admins**, **Reviewers**, **Task Reviewers**, **Members** and **Sales** can see Connections. \
> **Members** can't add or stop one, and **Sales** don't see a Connection's Onboarding and Review history. See [Roles](https://support.duna.com/roles.md#connections).

A **Connection** is a business you work with. It could be a merchant, seller, hotel, or partner, or any other name you call your business customers.

## Create a Connection

You can [create a Connection from the Dashboard](https://dashboard.duna.com/connections), or via Duna’s API, and pre-fill any information you already have, such as the business name, registration number, or contact name. This saves the business some typing: they’ll see your details and can confirm or change them.

If you’ve already verified information yourself, mark it as **trusted**. Trusted information is accepted as-is: the business isn't asked to confirm it.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Only mark information you've already checked as "trusted": it won't be verified again.

## Invite the business to onboard

When you create a **Connection** through the dashboard or the API, your policies decide what happens: if anything is missing, an Onboarding starts and your contact receives an invitation by email. If you've already provided everything as trusted information, the Connection goes straight to [Review](https://support.duna.com/managing-reviews.md), without any Onboarding.

## View a Connection

Open any Connection from the Connections list to see:

* its current status and what it’s waiting on
* its current and past Onboardings and [Reviews](https://support.duna.com/managing-reviews.md)
* other Connections with the same registration number

To share a Connection with Duna support, copy its ID (it starts with `conn_`) from the ••• menu or from the top of the Connection’s page.

## Stop an Onboarding or end a relationship

You can't delete a Connection, but you can stop it.

| | **Cancel onboarding** | **Terminate connection** |
| :- | :- | :- |
| **Use it when** | You invited a business by mistake, or twice | You're no longer working with this business |
| **What it does** | Stops the current Onboarding. The business's link shows it was canceled and they can't continue. | Ends the whole relationship. The business's links stop working, the current Onboarding and [Review](https://support.duna.com/managing-reviews.md) are canceled, and monitoring stops. |
| **Where** | On the Connection's page, or from the ••• menu in the list | In the ••• menu on the Connection's page |
| **Available** | Only while you're waiting on the business | Any time |
| **Can it be undone?** | Not from the Dashboard. Ask Duna support, as long as no new Onboarding or Review has started since. | No |

Both let you add an internal note. The business never sees it.

> [!NOTE]
>
> To completely *delete* a Connection's data, you can make a data deletion request with Duna support.
